 Instructions for Windows
  • Click the Start Menu and type cmd in the Search Programs and Files box:

  • In the window that appears type getmac -v and press Enter:

  • In the text that is displayed look for the Local Area Conn or Ethernet line (see the red arrow below). In the Physical Address column you can find the MAC address for the wired Ethernet connection (the green arrow points to the MAC address).

If you've been asked to provide this informatoin to CSCS you can take a screen shot of this entire window and send it to us and we will be able to extract the MAC address from there.

To take a screen shot:

On your keyboard, hold down the following keys at the same time: Shift-Windows Key-S

You will be able to drag a box around what you want to take a screen shot of or the full screen, a rectangular selection, a freehand selection, or an individual program window. Click your left mouse button whilst dragging a box around the black window

When you let go of the mouse button you will see a popup at lower right that says Snip Saved to Clipboard

You can then paste (cntrl+v or right click paste) this screenshot into an email or other document. It will stay in your clipboard until you copy something else on the computer
